Course Description

MA Journalism & Mass Communication gives training to the students in both technical skills and critical analysis of the media spectrum. It is a postgraduate course of 2 years duration. The course includes the study of mass media such as newspapers, magazines, cinema films, radio, television etc in order to convey information to the audience.

The course is comprised of the concept of news, the role of journalism in society, history of journalism, skills in identifying news and also covers political and social issues of particular society.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to apply for M.A (Journalism and Mass Communication) programme are as follows -
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or equivalent, in any stream, with an aggregate of 45% marks are eligible to enroll for this program.
Institutions requiring an entrance exam for admission may take into account both the entrance exam score as well as previous academic records. The cut-off mark for the examination is decided by each institution.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), differently abled, and other categories shall get a relaxation of 5% of marks.
